About my writing

I write for print magazines, newspapers, for the web, and for the occasional journal focusing on gender, the environment, poverty, media, and technology. I've written for a variety of publications including Bitch, Bookslut, Briarpatch, Campus Progress, ColorLines, Community Media Review, The Copenhagen Post, Geez, Herizons, INCITE! Journal of Experimental Media and Radical Aesthetics, In These Times, make/shift, Matador, Religion Dispatches, RH Reality Check, The Frisky, The New York Times, The Women's International Perspective, truthout, WireTap, and ZNet. I currently blog about poverty and women's rights for Change.org and previously blogged for Bitch about ecofeminism.

I've also written for a number of encyclopedia volumes. Every so often, I contribute to a zine or publish my own.

As a critic, I review an obscene amount of books, quite a bit of music, and a few films. I'm partial to short story collections, media theory, activist handbooks, freak folk, independent hip-hop, and complicated documentaries.
