Snow day

socksI’ve become as lazy as I used to be productive (though in my defense, I’ve also been quite sick). I finished 3 BAs in four years as an undergrad, moved immediately east and flung myself into grad school, yet with all my coursework done, I’m incapable of finishing my thesis, working more than part time, or doing more than reading old issues of Stop Smiling and taking pictures of my wool socks when I have an enforced day off due to inclement weather conditions.

I’m nevertheless quite happy, despite the feeling that I’m a little idle with a lot to offer. I’ve patiently watched six inches of snow fall instead of trying to battle the snowflakes in my car, stomping them with my boots. I received packages from the Hillary store and Frecklewonder. I posted to womannequin, and I’ve successfully avoided the television for one more day, believing it is a bane on our existence. Those characters on those shows? Yeah, not real, not your friends.

I finally did some official cleanup and close down work at Modern Feminist, and I’m planning to do the same on shooting full force before too long. Since I in no way identify with most people “videoblogging” today, having a videoblog - when I already put video on this site - seems futile. For teaching purposes, I’ll still show folks how to use Blogger and Blip.tv. I just happen to like this space more now. Less clutter, more understanding about privacy and digital footprints than I had two years ago.

Tomorrow I’m going to bust a move with strangers in public. It’s hard to live knowing you won’t be somewhere for very long, but that doesn’t stop me from dancing.
