Brittany Shoot   Freelance Writer & Editor

About

I'm a journalist, writer, and editor whose work focuses on gender, arts & culture, travel, and the environment. I also enjoy writing about religion, politics, poverty, and being childfree.

In a past life, I worked in non-commercial radio, online video, and as an activist. I spoke at conferences in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Detroit, and Ankara, Turkey. My online video manifesto was featured on Boing Boing, and my anti-street harassment organizing was featured in the Boston Globe. In 2008, I received my master's degree from Emerson College.

I'm currently based in San Francisco, where I live with my partner, Andreas, and our catness, Malcolm. In the last six years, I've also lived in Copenhagen and Boston.
